135 Bishopsgate

Sir Robert McAlpine

The client required a full removal of the existing fire protection and application of intumescent paint to the beams, rib deck and columns and acrylic paint to the windows. A highly decorative standard was required to ensure the newly established prime location offices matched the design quality from the architects. The site was large and complex and formed part of the regeneration of Broadgate Estates at Liverpool Street station under British Land.

System Building Services Limited removed the existing silver-foiled beam clad from all truss beams and the Fireline board from the columns. The steel was prepared to an ST3 standard and intumescent paint applied to a highly decorative finish. All perimeter and atrium windows were prepared and coated to a highly decorative finish. System Building Services Limited installed an innovative tenting and fume extraction system uniquely for this project.
